more about me

World travelin’, sustainability guru, humanitarian, foster and adoptive mommin’, photographer, photobooth-er, educator, multiple hat wearing entrepreneur. This girl’s love language is hugs and her tank is filled by serving others. You can find her under a palm tree, on a mountain, renovating a vintage trailer/house or running through the sprinklers with her husband, two boys and three fur babies.

Every time I sit down to write about my couples, their wedding days, their families and friends, the cute decor or theme.. it’s always easy for me to write about the prettiness of their whole day. But hardly ever can I truly say that a DREAM wedding was accomplished by COMPLETELY finding all the decor at thrift stores or things in their home. This one I can.

They figured out how to tie in every little detail, down to the proposal and the Beloved (engagement) session, to their wedding details and centerpieces. Some creative and easy ideas they had: A-Collecting elegant frames, all with a different “look” that all tie in together with the vintage feel-also using their parents and grandparents wedding images from their wedding day, B-Wrapping beautiful lace around mason jars and beautifully laid over old books that were found in dads office, C-Hand making all their jewelry. Finding pearls and designing the neckless, and finishing their earrings with a diamond touch. D-Using the mason jars for their re-usable drinking glasses throughout the night, E-Having family make a darling little cupcake cake tier. All of these things are thought of with love, have sentimental value to their family, and accomplish that dreamy spring, pastel and romantically fun look they were going for. Their main dish for the evening…. elegant bar-bq. Also tied in to their charming Beloved session done last spring.  I continued  to ask the couple through out the day where they found the vintage china and little pieces I loved so much, and the answer was always “a thrift store.” For the planning couple, this is proof that you can be as creative as you’d like, have a theme, and accomplish the most amazing wedding you’ve always dreamed of having. And on top of that, this family and friends that came to celebrate what a great couple Jenny & Austin are together, were and are some of the most loving, giggly, sweet people I’ve ever spent time with. I was so honored to get to experience so many authentic Beloved moments throughout this perfect wedding day, with my formal middle hitter at Graceland University (Jenny). Austin too, was the setter for the men’s volleyball team at GU.

Funniest moment of the day: When Tiffany (brides sister) dropped her gum on the bride during the “bubble gum” series.

Most hilarious quote of the day:  Our coach was at the wedding of course, and he wins the prize… Leaving a volleyball tournament right before the wedding ceremony, he states: “Well, i’m off.. my middle hitter and my setter are about to get married!”

Favorite things at the wedding: the very, very sweet tear filled moments as the sisters of the bride see their ‘big sis’ completely done and ready to go for the day, dad’s first site with his baby girl, the way Austin brushed his lady’s cheek with his as they held each other, alone, quite and so happy! …the totally Pinterest worthy hair of the flower girls and the sweet grin of the ring boy as he chomps on his blue iced cupcake. The decor at the wedding was some of my favorite I’ve seen in a long time. Very perfect!

There are too many amazing moments and images for me to share. I hope you all feel all the love I have for this wedding, in their pictures below. Enjoy and congratulations Jenny & Austin! God is going to bless you in more ways than you can ever imagine.

This is my first shot at “giving my daughter away.” These photos certainly have captured the moments in and out of the spotlight. They bring to light all of the wonderful memories from that special day!

Jenny is definitely a true princess, in the photos and in real life. It is hard to remember all of those days playing soccer in the mud, sweaty on the volleyball court, thanks for giving a lasting memory of the princess. Austin, we (Lila and myself) couldn’t ask for a better son in law! You either have us all fooled, or you two are going to have a wonderful marriage (with grand-kids coming soon we hope!).

What about Tiffany the Maid of Honor. You cleaned up really nice and did a wonderful job before and during the wedding, you are beautiful and we are very proud of you!

Megan, what can I say, you are beautiful and the next princess to be coming up in June! You were such a wonderful help, lacing up the dress, being a calming presence and such a hard worker. We cannot wait to attend your wedding.

Christopher, I never thought I would say it but,you make a great bridesmaid. We couldn’t even tell that you were the only male on the left. You fit in with your sisters and the other bridesmaids. You helped so much with your endless energy, never a complaint.

We could not be prouder of all of our fantastic children, friends, in-laws, and others that helped make this a dream wedding.

Jana, thank you for capturing it all with your co-worker! We will not forget how hard he worked, he went through 4 shirts during the evening. Perhaps he was working harder than you? No, never, you have done a great job and we will remember the day through your great photos. KUDOS!

Hopefully, others will like the photos so much you will get enough work to fill up your next year.

    Thanks, Chris D. Stone
