Shannon & Cody have been planning their New Years Eve wedding at Buffalo Ldoge for over 2 years. Little did they guess it would be -4 on the day of their wedding in Kansas City, Missouri. Thank goodness Buffalo Lodge has a large beautiful cabin with big windows to photograph inside, but of course Shannon said, “I only get married once, lets go outside for 5 minutes.” Although the temps were far below freezing, the sunset was stunning so we knew it’d be worth it. Shannon was wearing her grandma’s fur and the girls in their sparkly rose gold sequin dresses with lush burgundy and white florals with greens hangings so elegantly alongside their cream shawls. The whole day down to every detail was seriously so pretty. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Buffalo Lodge’s fireplace mantle decorated so beautifully.

My favorite three moments from the wedding day? 3- Shannon & her dad’s first dance choreographed at the reception! Craig rocked it.  2-Grandma as their flower girl!    …. and my favorite moment of the whole day, the very first time Cody saw Shannon in her wedding dress, a scene straight from a movie as she walked glowingly down the steps to her soon to be husband. His tears flowed and it was priceless!

As the night wrapped up, we counted down at midnight, celebrated with champagne and bundled up in every coat, glove, scarf, hat and warm attire we could find, we all wished the couple farewell with sparklers at -6 degrees just after midnight. What a way to start the new year.
