You know.. when the Earth and stars align, a proposal happens on a pier where you were watching the sunset and your videographer friend (aka Matt with Hawleywood Films) who was in Southeast Asia with you on a project, gets asked to capture the proposal on their phones. Yowza! Yes that happened. On the beach on Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort in Phuket, Thailand just right after sunset D’Mitri pops the question to Sammi. “Will. You. Be. My. Bride?”
What a dream! The perfect setting, the perfect place to go back to. And there just happens to be a professional photographer (me) and videographer staying at the same resort, standing in the same place, who is also oozing over some portrait time with these two beautiful souls. Oh my gosh talk about love at first site (more me in love with them, haha). Sammi & D’Mitri are SO my kind of couple. They are fun, sweet, playful, a little shy, super excited to be engaged, she is a dancer and dance teacher, he a teacher, both from Texas and enjoying their two months summer vacation traveling the globe. (My teacher husband was on the trip too so we had tons to talk about celebrating “no work” and exotic locations).
Only two days into this new feeling of being engaged and we’re already asking if they’ll let us shoot some photos & videos of them. Lets just jump right in shall we?
So cheers to new proposals, amazing relationships, new friendships being made from across the world, and late nights with wine in our private infinity pool under Thailand’s stars. I’d say this could be one of the best ways to make new friends. Yes! I’d say so. THE EARTH ALIGNED and it was magic! Meet Sammi & D’Mitri, a very fresh engaged duo celebrating on the beaches of Santhiya in Phuket, Thailand!
See post above. LOVE LOVE LOVE every single one of these pictures! Thank you for doing this for Sammi and D’mitri! ???? You did an amazing job capturing their special moment! ❤️
WOW, what an amazingly stunning setting for this beautiful story – – and what a gift the way everything lined up for all and out there where there was no one, you were able to capture the moment for them. What beautiful pictures, and what a touching story of how everyone met and it all worked out!!! Love these pictures.
