They dreamed of having their wedding on Chelsea’s parent’s property that outlooks the majestic Mount Rainier. And they wanted the mountain to be the backdrop to their ceremony. So what did Chelsea’s family do? They BUILT a barn and ceremony site JUST 5 weeks before the wedding. Yes, you heard me right. Laid the sod, paved walkways, built two arches for the ceremony, built light fixtures, cut the wood for the barn, and built that baby. They even had a repurposed fire pit and string lights over their outdoor patio. With Chelsea’s dad being a logger, they had a lot of really awesome personal touches since he made literally everything. They got ready across the street in Chelsea’s parents home and everyone had a peaceful and ridiculously fun vacation to Seattle, Portland, Tacoma to end in Eatonville, Washington where Chelsea grew up.

I met Justin through some of our best friends in Los Angeles. He’s from LA, and she from Washington. They both are the truest of best friends and i’m so thankful I know them. Their personalities shine bright through their laughter and their smiles. Their friends and family are so so supportive and loving. We had a blast spending the extra few days with them in Tacoma for their dinner rehearsal and staying the night in a 19 person air bnb.

And believe it…. Philip and I HIKED Mount Rainier too. See that mountain below? We made it to 10,000 feet on this breathtaking volcano. We also arrived a few days early so we could trek it up to Olympic National Park where we experienced the hardest hike we’ve ever done. But so worth it. This entire area of Washington is forever adventurable (is that even a word?) With endless things to do, we were strongly considering moving here. I’m so glad to have clients such as Justin and Chelsea who allow us to live in our dream, as destination wedding photographers.
