My weekend at the Grammys 2016.. what a blur. My friends work so hard with the amazing singers and directors at the Kansas City Chorale and Pheonix Chorale. They put in countless hours in rehearsals, performances, recordings, they’re passionate and professional yet so silly and fun to be around. It’s been a fun ride alongside these angelic choirs, getting to attend the grammys TWICE now, winning FOUR GRAMMYS the years I’ve attended. We get better at knowing how to dress and how to soak up our time on the red carpet every time we go. We spend more time going to bed early and resting our feet knowing it’ll be a LONG day (usually ready by 10am for the shuttles for an 12:30pm ceremony, the live televised concert portion of the series in the evening, and then the after party not ending until about 1am.) The only downfall? Not being allowed to take in our phones. All we get is our iPhones for the red carpet and the ceremonies, so pardon my terrible quality in some.. but I figured they were fun to share from our perspective anyway. And hilarious, our friends at home watching LIVE taking screen shots from their TV’s when they saw me on the red carpet. Thanks so much for that Adrienne, we loved knowing our friends and families were following at home.
A huge thank you to ENVE Designs for allowing me to wear her runway necklace piece for the red carpet. I felt so glamorous and was super fun being asked all the time “what designer made your jewelry piece?” Another huge thanks to Linda Quach for the grammy worthy hair for the day and Garret Cornelison for the awesome shots pre-grammy in downtown LA.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE KANSAS CITY CHORALE AND THE PHEONIX CHORALE FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND MUCH DESERVED WIN!
Best things to do when visiting LA?
See my suggestions below…If you’re ever in Los Angeles, you need to visit Bottega Louie for some amazing desserts. It was Valentines Day so we splurged a little much. Just look at these adorable macarons!Another hot spot for LA travelers, visit the Pantry Cafe. Always a line at this 24/7 diner that’s been on this corner for over 90 years. And always worth it. Visiting our friend Calvo in Hermosa Beach was a must also.Hermosa with cloud coverage? I’ve never seen such a thing.Cassie (right) also on the recorded Grammy winning album with the Chorale. Love these girls!
This is definitely one of my favorite places on this green earth. I love the west coast so much! The pre-grammy party, rooftop of The Perch, a great “hangout” spot if you are visiting LA. Just look at that view.Morning of the Grammys. Loving on our Valentine chocolate covered strawberries from Bottega Louie and thankful for Linda Quach because I have no idea how to do hair. #iphoneselfieGreat shots of ENVE’s jewelry piece was a must. It was fun getting some professional photos too. Thank you to our super flexible friend Garret Cornelison for snapping some great memories for me.
Drama. It was weird “modeling.” I’m definitely better behind the lens.Seriously check out ENVE Designs. She has some of the most stunning pieces. Such a hand maker of many types of jewelry pieces. My favorite of hers, are the runway pieces that drape down your front and back. Or the golden shoulders. I felt like a celebrity trying all of these jaw dropping pieces on. I eventually just had to pick one. Katie & Nick.. waiting for the shuttles. The anticipation is building. And our red carpet moment. We were taking this photo and a photo of the big golden grammy in front o fuss when my friend saw us on TV and screen shot it for me. See below. So hilarious. GIERMO from Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! Made my day. Oh, our iPhone photos. AND THEY WIN!!!! (TV perspective)(Our perspective.)The Grammys is such a fun experience. As we get to listen to about 30+ concerts in one day from some of the best musicians in the world, from classical, to Christian, to rap, to pop to… (I could go on and on). The main thing, is that I got a picture of Taylor Swift taking home the “Album of the Year” award. She opened up the Grammys and we got amazing wrist bands that wirelessly lit up in sync with her song so the entire audience was a part of her performance. She is seriously a rock star! Well deserving Taylor. So thankful for good role models in the industry. The Grammy “After Party” -Candy Land Themed….How do you celebrate the next morning after winning something awesome? Dance it out Philip. Most people flew back the next morning (crazy). We thought relaxing by the pool in 90 degrees sounded better. Thanks Airbnb. My $80 chocolate in our Swag Bag from Phillip Ashley. Yumm.
