One of my favorite things is to see the world through the eyes of my lens. Getting to document Kristen & Chris’s wedding made it worth the travel to Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Mexico is one of my favorite places on earth also, so it feels like home away from home.

The resort they chose is one of my ultimate favorites we’ve been to. Azul Beach Resort by Karisma… they greet you with blue sparkling drinks, warm towelettes, a basket full of pillows you choose from for your weeks stay, and scents of choice for that fresh feeling when you walk into your room.  The initial reaction when pulling into the front circle is so welcoming and beautiful, and your first site when walking in the main lobby are those swinging beds in the foreground of the blowing palm trees near the ocean.  They take your bags for you, walk you around the resort, and any cookies, desserts, drinks or snacks are waiting at their fingertips to give you. This place isn’t too large or noisy, but not too small either. Family friendly but a quiet and respectable place without screaming kids running around. Its just the perfect place with that short walk to the beach and that the swinging beds hanging over the ocean is awaiting your long afternoon naps. What. A. Place! I’d go back and shoot weddings here every month if I could. Gah-and the food?! It has to be close to a 5 star resort for food. One of my favorite restaurants in the world is located here!

Well, we had a relaxing week with friends in the pool, little to no excursions, just pure enjoyment of everyone’s company under the bright sun and the perfect breeze. They started their week with a “Welcoming Cocktail Hour” for all their 30 or so guests. The weekend was complete with a Saturday wedding on the rooftop overlooking the bright blue sky and deep blue ocean. MAN, what a view! This wedding was so them! After their rooftop ceremony, they mingled on the second tier for cocktail hour and social hour, then headed down to the beach to enjoy some toes in the sand during a beach themed reception. We all thought that little dance floor would end up being a little silly, but with all the colors and a flat surface to dance, everyone danced until they had to kick us out.

Congratulations to Chris and the beautiful Elsa, I mean Kristen (her goal was that fairytale hair to look like Elsa or Rapunzel… she of course succeeded)! Thank you so much for having me there.
