Just this week, Kansas City lost two veteran fire fighters in a very large fire close to home. They had just saved some people from the building and then it collapsed. When I think about their heroism and the reality and heartbreak that’s spread across our city right now, I just can’t help but think of all the families and couples that i’ve photographed who have been men and women in the fire department, police, military, and many other services to and for our country.
Jon is a firefighter, marrying his fiance Rachel, who is also a nurse. Both in fields that require incredible hearts for people, service to our community, MUCH time away from family and each other, and both so so so compassionate. You can see the love and care they have for each other and that reflects deeply into their relationships with the people around them and into their jobs. I absolutely knew this couple, I wanted to photograph. I’m so thrilled they chose me to capture the process of their engagement all the way to their wedding day. Those smiles are so infectious. Congratulations to you both. I can’t wait to see your radiating beauty on your wedding day! (And who doesn’t love a perfect evening in the fall in Kansas City? What a great sunset)
