Mucho gusto Angel!
A HUGE piece of my heart belongs to the families of Mexico. I simply adore most everyone I meet in Mexico and they consume a large amount of my prayer time. I checked off another thing on my bucket list this past week in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I’ve always wanted to photograph a family on the beach in Mexico. We travel there a lot, mostly to Tijuanna, so I’ve photographed a lot of children and families in the mountains, but never the beach. Check this one off! I think it was fate meeting Angel & his family. Just minutes before these pictures, he asked me if I’d take a picture of his family on his phone, with the gorgeous sunset on the beach, just right outside our resort- Marival Resort & Suites. Of course, I took a photo, knowing a phone couldn’t quite capture them at their best AND get the sky they wanted. I watched them walk away, and I knew in my heart after seeing their darling little girls and how beautifully dressed they all were, probably waiting for their dinner reservations, that I wanted this family to be the family I was able to give the gift of photography to this Christmas. I grabbed our friend Chad as he could speak much more Spanish than me, and he asked them if I could document their family. They were a little confused by my request, but became more excited, definitely not as excited as me. Well you can see how incredibly gorgeous they all are, below. My goodness were they all so cute together. I hope they cherish these images forever and ever. I was so glad to have met them, even if it was for a brief minute. I’m reminded of how easily the barriers of language can be broken just after a simple hello and a bit of love. The funniest part.. you should have seen me try to translate “tickle her” by demonstration on myself. Priceless. Merry Christmas to Angel and his family and a wonderful 2015 year!
