Best wedding invitations I have EVER seen! And they were our very own wedding invitations, can you believe it? I promise I don’t want to be biased, but they really are the greatest little things i’ve ever discovered in this industry! I wanted to hold on to them so bad and not give them away to our guests they were so beautifully done. I kept them for a few days before sending my farewell.
Philip and I wanted to do a “travel” theme to our wedding, but with a twist. We didn’t want the traditional suit cases and map theme. We decided to go with a “rustic wood and modern metal mix” overall since our barn would be the obvious wood look tucked back in the beautiful mountains, and then to spice it up with silver and metals would bring the modern to our wedding. We didn’t want a “vintage” wedding since so many of our attire would be more vintage inspired, so we knew the silver glam would be a perfect balance. We included a splash of colorful summer with our oranges, yellows and peaches and captured the travel theme with the “Passport booklet” for our guests to enjoy while they traveled to our destination wedding in the Rocky Mountains. We knew we had to print directions, information about weather and what to bring, details about our wedding weekend extravaganza and all our fun activities from hiking to city wide scavenger hunts, so it only made sense to save some stamps and include all the goodies in a little book. The Passport idea came from my dear friend who helped compile the whole invitation, Allie with Announce This Design. She is one of the best at what she does let me tell you. I’ve never dreamed of obsessing over my invitations like I did. She nailed it- and then some.
I designed the concept with her and watercolored the world map inside. So I got to include my artistic touch while stepping back from the stress of actually creating the whole thing. A great choice!
My darling friend and wedding professional guru, Madi Sanders with MRS and Soiree Event Designs, did all the jaw dropping hand-lettered calligraphy you see. Something else to obsess over right?!
Wow, wow, wow! This is an invite no one will ever through away. I was so proud to see the final product and think we collaborated so successfully together. It’s what happens when you use the best people at what they do. Thank you girls beyond my words for helping put together a wonderful start to our wedding planning process.
You can see how obsessed I was with these, I even styled a whole photo shoot with them. They deserved their very own blog feature. There were just too many good things happening within this set of invites, I just had to share them all.
