more about me

World travelin’, sustainability guru, humanitarian, foster and adoptive mommin’, photographer, photobooth-er, educator, multiple hat wearing entrepreneur. This girl’s love language is hugs and her tank is filled by serving others. You can find her under a palm tree, on a mountain, renovating a vintage trailer/house or running through the sprinklers with her husband, two boys and three fur babies.

It doesn’t get more spring like than a walk through the freshness of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Memorial Garden in Kansas City. It sits right at the front of the Nelson Atkins Museum and is surrounded with Kansas City’s finest. With rows of perfect floral design, and every color of flower and green you can imagine. Stunning.

Nicki and Brandon had never been here so it was fun to introduce her to it all. Her dresses matched the fresh flowers perfectly. And what a fun fiance. Brandon is such a trooper and was so fun to chat with. I can see in them both, how kind they are and how good they are together. I love Nicki’s genuine and softness in her smiles and her tone of voice, and I love Brandon’s involvement in his excitement to get married to this beautiful girl. Congratulations to my first “official” spring Beloved session. (As we just had snow a week ago.)

    Hey Jana,

It looks like someone has picked some of our expensive orchid blossoms from the garden. We also have a no dogs allowed policy in the garden to protect our garden cat and it is disrespectful to our volunteers. It is very important that we do not touch any of the flowers or bring in animals into the garden. As long as these rules are followed then we will continue to allow photography in the garden. When flowers are mangled and animals are brought in then we will take your image from the security camera and alert the security officers when you arrive.

Our rules of garden etiquette and photography are on our webpage, facebook page and also the kauffman foundation webpage.

Please do not publish any pictures of our garden where these rules are broken because other photographers will think that these things are okay to do here. It has come up many times to not allow photography in the kauffman garden because of damages that occur during these sessions.

Thanks for your compliance and help,
    Tracy Flowers
