So many things personalized to make this wedding day as sentimental as it was. I’m always grateful when I am approached by family immediately to welcome me into their day, their family, and their lives. It’s such a big deal.. and it makes me showing up so worthwhile when we are loved from everyone like they’ve known us forever. Lauren and Michael’s family and friends were so charming.

And I must say, they are to blame for Philip and I (the guy I’m dating, also my assistant photographer at weddings) purchasing our baby boy Golden Doodle 3 weeks ago. You see, we went to Lauren’s family home to take pictures with her adorable little pup Henry with his Ring Boy bow tie, and we also met the family dog-a full grown golden doodle. Philip fell in love. It wasn’t two weeks later, we were shooting a farm wedding in Floyd, Iowa where there was a baby golden doodle running around. Philip of course, in love with this new type of dog he had never heard of, was ECSTATIC when he found out they were selling more down the street. The rest is history. I say if our little rug rat grows up onry, it’s Lauren and Michael and their family to blame {big giggle.}

With all that said, every little stop along the way on their wedding day was very romantic, very fitting and very much tells their story. The ring Michael wore was his fathers. He would be so proud. And the ring was stunning (woah). The airplane pictures are some of my favorite. And this was the same airplane Michael had proposed to Lauren on. The pilot was generous enough to come by the airport so that we could enjoy some fabulous story telling with the intense clouds that came out just in time for us. And how could we forget Michael’s brother, the best man, and his “dancin shoes.” The same shoes he changed into for their sister’s wedding this year. A beautiful day could sum this one up.
