“Unexpected Beauty: Finding Gems in Kansas City and Suburban Backdrops”
Driving through the vibrant fall streets of Kansas City and its surrounding suburbs, the possibilities for photography backdrops are endless. It’s not always about the grandeur of the backdrop, but rather, it’s about capturing the essence of the moment through skilled manipulation of lighting and creative composition while getting your clients to feel natural and calm in front of the camera.
Driving through Independence, Missouri, I stumbled upon a hidden gem—a field of wild yellow flowers tucked behind a seemingly ordinary building. The challenge is always enticing to me, to turn this unconventional location into a photoshoot proved to be an excellent choice.
So I called Kelsey and said: “Do you trust me?” Without hesitation, she replied, “You can shoot by a trash can and make it amazing, I trust you.” With that sort of confidence, we ventured beyond the obvious, maybe even ugly, ready to transform the mundane into something extraordinary.
With the experience of a professional photographer, a side wall of a thrift store building, dumpsters, and scattered trash along a back road to the thrift store drop-off during the brightest part of the day, can result in fall portraits that even exceeded my own expectations.
Conclusion: In the world of photography, beauty can be found in the most unexpected places. By trusting your photographer and embracing unconventional backdrops, you open the door to a world of creative possibilities. The journey through Kansas City and its suburbs revealed that, with the right mindset and trust in the artistic process, you can turn any location into a canvas for stunning, memorable photographs.
I FINALLY JUMPED SHIP! Do I have a new love for AI editing?
Also I’d love to add that I’ve been in denial about the whole AI world we’re becoming. I have declined on repeat, the help of AI for editing for so long now, but I finally jumped ship to try it out. With my personal editor retiring, it left me no choice. Sothis was my very first try at using Imagen, an AI editing tool for photographers to not only cull (how?) but edit your portraits within my very own style. I’m not going to lie… it was so simple dropping in my basic “authentic, light and bright filter” and it nailed it on try #1. These are the stunning results of my new robot friend helping me edit.
What do you think?
Are you using AI to edit? If not, I dare you to.
The results blew my mind and it was all done in less than 20 minutes. If you are interested in trying it out, I use Imagen for my photo editing now. You are welcome to get 1000-1500 images to edit for free with my referral code to Image here. Enjoy and let me know how you love it!
