What a fun wedding. A ceremony held in the backyard of the grooms childhood home. His parents, art enthusiasts. A pool side wedding reception at the Comptons, a private estate in Lawrence, Kansas. And a spice of colorful modern floral plus a victorian home creates a unique wedding day for Dakota and Krystal. Krystal seeming more reserved at first, until she meets eyes with Dakota. He compliments her so well, as they giggle like a newly dating couple. They interacted almost like I wasn’t even there shooting them. I love it. They are so perfect together . One of my favorite things about a wedding day, is when the parents are fantastic, inviting, involved, and excited for the day just as much as their children are. We loved both sets of parents. And I loved even more, the uniqueness of seeing Dakota walk his mom AND dad down the isle, as well as both mom and dad walking the bride down the isle to her groom.
This is just the wedding I needed to break the mold of a typical wedding day. I loved the chairs lined so perfectly in the back yard, and the the horse back riders who walked each family into the reception down the beautiful circle drive of the Comptons. And to our right, yes… there were ZEBRAS! How fun is that? All around, this was a really creative and spunky day, and we truly enjoyed to be a part of it Dakota and Krystal. Thank you so much for trusting in us to capture some great stories for you.
Congratulations to you both. Married September 14, 2013.
