If I were to have a big sister, Emily would be it. Her little sister Katy has been my best friend since I was 5. And Katy will actually be my maid of honor also at my wedding. I know Katy, Emily and their whole group of friends and family spent a lot of time making this the best wedding they could dream up. Wow, the details were charming. Aaron was so sincere in the way he looked at Emily all day, and the peacefulness in the atmosphere was ideal for a wedding day. What a thoughtful gift Aaron put together too, for Emily to open at her house she grew up in in Independence while the girls got ready. Such a beautiful place, where so many great memories took place.
As I walked up their stairs to meet the bridesmaids on the second floor, I just happened to almost fall over with laughter (again and again) as I’ve seen this family photo hanging on the Allinder wall since I can remember. Oh man, is it fun to look at. Katy in her cute little thick glasses and the little sisters in their 80’s hair-dos. And even though the Allinder family is practically my own, without me meeting Aaron’s family before the wedding day, I felt like I knew the Scotts just as well. So inviting into their personal life, their hugs and their warm conversation. Aaron’s dad is a camera enthusiast and we had many great conversations as the night went on about his camera and my equipment. I even think I remember him saying when I was setting up my off camera flash at the Baltimore Club (and I quote) “Cheater.” [smiles] I loved this whole day. Very on time, very relaxing, very sweet.
I’m not quite sure if Aaron and Emily are back from their honey moon yet, but I’m SO excited to share all of these. Aaron, the perfect husband that he is, started their marriage off right let me tell you. Surprising Emily with a “surprise honeymoon.” I’ll be excited to hear where they went.
I think my favorite moment of the whole day, was when Emily and Aaron stopped by her grandma and grandpas house to receive his blessing. He (of course) welcomed Aaron into their family with open arms. He unfortunately couldn’t make it to their big day, but he was just as much, if not one of THE most impactful parts of the day.
I hope you enjoyed re-living the wedding day as you cuddle up together in your new home together in Texas. Congratulations Emily + Aaron. You two were so beautiful. And how fun is it that I’ve had these groomsmen quite a few times in different weddings of mine.

Their photo booth pictures at their reception and cocktail hour were some of my favorite I’ve seen too. See more of their Kansas City photo booth images by the Banana Who? Booth here.
