more about me

World travelin’, sustainability guru, humanitarian, foster and adoptive mommin’, photographer, photobooth-er, educator, multiple hat wearing entrepreneur. This girl’s love language is hugs and her tank is filled by serving others. You can find her under a palm tree, on a mountain, renovating a vintage trailer/house or running through the sprinklers with her husband, two boys and three fur babies.

This Children’s Museum of Kansas City, located in Shawnee, Kansas, is committed to sparking a lifelong love of learning in children through the power of play. Wonderscope provides fun, inter-disciplinary arts and sciences exhibits and programs for children 10 and under, (or me, a grown 25 year old) their parents and teachers from across the Kansas City area.

While volunteering with these amazing people at Wonderscope who all wear their heart on their sleeves, I most definitely was playing every chance I could.

In fact, if you check out the pictures below, Chris and I were both having a wee bit of fun. It is a place you will want to check out. To see more about programs, classes, and great events going on at Wonderscope, click http://www.wonderscope.org/. They also provide a place for recycling almost anything you can imagine. With great organization, it is also a place for teachers and families to come find materials for classroom projects and more, for just a few cents.

My friend Chris (who is also one of my wonderful assistant photographers) gave out free photo sessions with $25 dollar donations that went toward Wonderscope and future projects. We met some dandy people and many birthday girls.

These pictures will show you just how much fun we had this beautiful Saturday afternoon. You should go visit soon..

The Lego area. My favorite place for hands on learning.

And we found the treasure chest full of snorkeling stuff..

Oh ya, we HAD to put them to use..

One of the many many amazing animals made of legos.

Some of the great kids we met through out the day.. Just precious!

I love this. Showing their guns.

The birthday girl and her friend. Quite a goofy shot
