The little things in life are what make life what it should be.
A weekend off.. nothin to do, for once.. lets just go. Where? I don’t know. Does it matter? No. Lets just go… Floyd (the little furry guy) can enjoy his first road trip and we’ll just site see, meet some interesting people along the way, and keep going where we feel led to adventure. I never say no to an adventure. And it’s the quiet moments, the moments where nothing else matters but just BEING there, where you are, and making it worth it. It’s what life is about. The thing I’ve learned in the last four years of my business, is that there ARE no limits. Life is what we make it. Work is what we make it. And why not make it the best life you could ever have?! Because we only get one. And I am bound and determined to conquer this world. The ins and outs. To adventure and discover and travel and learn and love and to make every, stinking, moment, matter. Planned or unplanned.
I’ve also learned the importance of being spontaneous (not that I wasn’t already). But letting God direct my sails and turn my wheel the direction it is to go, is so much easier when my ship is already moving. And what I’ve received is much better than I could ever give myself. And I love where I’m going. My life is taking off. My photography business, I’m now starting another big project (Banana Who? Booth) and a big announcement is about to happen in my world. (No I’m not getting married-yet. Ha emm)
But it’s these things in life, that feel so good, and feel so right, that would have NEVER happened if we didn’t allow a free spirit to be able to sit still enough to be blessed with the unexpected.
So this was us. Packing up to head somewhere. And we ended up touring Southern Missouri and the beautiful state of Arkansas, full of big trees, incredible lakes and rolling hills that reminded me of Colorado. Every stop we reached, we met new people:
“AWW HOW CUTE IS YOUR DOG?! What’s his name? How old is he? What kind of dog is that? Your puppy is so cute! I just wanna pet him, can I? What’s your adorable puppies name? What kind is this? Is that a labradoodle? HOW CUTE!” The repetition of attention towards this little 8 week old creature, is what directed us to the next stop. Meeting people of all walks of life, sending us to some “place” they’ve been and loved. Wanting us to share in that same experience.
We ended up at Cedar Rock Resort, Table Rock Lake, Branson Missouri (saw the tornado damage-yikes), Arkansas, the landing near Branson whee I bought my first pair of TOMS shoes, what was supposed to be a “castle” built for a little girl who passed away who always wanted a castle that led us down a less traveled road to the middle of nowhere, eating some amazing cooking at a little Truman diner. And it was these moments, these places, that reminded me I am exactly where I need to be in life. With the people who are surrounding me.
We saw new places and took a moment to step back and enjoy having absolutely, nothing, to do but BE.
